How do you use the Hoover power scrub? ›

Because the machine uses an automatic measuring system, you don't have to do that part yourself. Just fill the water compartment with hot tap water, fill the Soap compartment with Cleaning Solution. Set knob on front of it to "Wash". Replace tank by tilting it back in.

I rinsed well. I extracted for both wash and rinse very very well. It is nice to have a switch to simply turn then rinse. My carpets dried in an hour!

We recommend using warm water when possible, but either hot or cold water can be used.

Step 5: Rinse Your Carpets (Optional)

An optional step that we recommend if you have time is to go back over the cleaned carpet again with only hot tap water in the tank (no formula this time). This will remove any leftover formula and give your carpets an extra clean.

A: Although Hoover of course recommend their own detergent, we are using a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water, with a few drops of essential oil (tea tree oil) in it to improve the fragrance. This has worked well for us and is very inexpensive. I haven't noticed any problems with the machine.

Check that it is not clogged with debris

Turn the cleaner over and inspect the brushes, they can be removed for cleaning - any threads or hair that may be tangled around it will stop it turning as will any solid items jammed down there.

If the bristles become clogged with debris the cleaner will not pick up efficiently. To remove the brush and clean it simply use a flat blade screw driver to turn the lock to the 'open padlock' setting and lift the red catch out. Now pull the brush out and carefully remove any debris tangled around the bristles.

Can you use Hoover Power Scrub on floors? ›

A: I have used mine to clean up a wood floor after a sick dog. Seems to have worked well. It gets the floor very wet, then scrubs then vacuums up the water. Should probably rinse with clean water or maybe a mop.

It is a carpet shampooer. It works by spraying water and cleaner on the floor and scrubbing it. Then you suck up the water/cleaning/dirt mixture. It does not operate as a standard vacuum cleaner.
